Still here!

Hello,

I'm still here!  I can't believe how long it's been since I last blogged.  In the 3 and a half months; I've done a few lovely fairs:

This was part of my stall on a gorgeous day at the Northampton Vintage Fair and Garden Party back in May.

And this is part of my stall a little closer to home in Stamford on the Jubilee weekend.

The other thing which has been keeping me busy recently; is that I have taken a stall at a local antique centre:

Luckily, this is not far from home; so I am able to visit often to change things round and add new stock.  It's quite different to selling at vintage fairs and it's all a learning experience for me, which I am enjoying.

This was the space before I moved in:

And this is how it looks currently:

Display and photography - 2 more things I need to improve.

Not Vintage Spring Weather!

We've had such terrible weather lately.  The first whiff of a hosepipe ban, and we get torrential downpours.  So much so, that car boots here have been out of the question, and very little vintage shopping has gone on.  Well, apart from the odd jug of course:

Johnson Brothers green jug; from the '50's I'm guessing.  Sorry about poor photo; all this rain has made taking pictures difficult too.

We have been to a couple of fantastic places though.  I wish my camera skills were better though, as  did not do justce to the wonderful Wilton's Music Hall in London.  If you want faded, peeling but beautiful Georgian and Victorian buildings; you should go:

We had a really interesting tour; and it is still a working bar and theatre too; definitely worth a visit if you are around the St Katherine's Dock area.

Last week we went to the Black Country Living Museum; which is also a fantastic place; but I'll have to wait for my photography expert to download her pictures; as I didn't get many myself.  Too busy in the sweetshop buying fudge and the 1930's fish and chip shop!

Anyway, off to check out the charity shops....

Belated Happy Easter

Running behind as usual!  I hope everyone has enjoyed a wonderful Easter (despite the disappointing weather after the last couple of weeks).

Our first spring here has been a surprise, as we don't know what will come up in the new garden.  So far, there have been many beautiful daffodils and primroses, and now tulips are just starting; but we are stll awaiting the cherry blossom from the tree right outside our front gate.  We had a lovely cherry in our old front garden, so I am hoping for something similar here - this was last year, before we moved:

So - come back warm weather please!  I'm off to see if the girls missed any eggs the Easter bunny hid for them yesterday; finders keepers!  Happy Easter.

Life Begins...

Today!

My girls very kindly bought me this:

Inside I found a very appropriate quote:  Birthdays are nature's way of getting you to eat more cake.

I took this to heart.

One of these for breakfast (always birthday breakfast food in this house!)

Then we went to the lovely local town of Woodhall Spa; home of the Dam Busters squadron - and a fantastic patisserie:

Sadly; about 5 minutes after buying some very pretty cupcakes, my now 40-year old brain decided it would be a good idea to buy a bag of wild bird seed and put it in the bag on top of the cupcakes.  Oh dear:

But they tasted good anyway!

Then, of course, we had to have some more cake with dinner:

Now a diet is called for!

New Year, same old me!!

I don't know what happened to January.  Oh wait, yes I do - hubby's tax and VAT returns, that is what happened!  Note to self - when moving house; try and pack all business related paperwork together.  I think I spent days trying to track down odd bits of paper, invoices and receipts.

Never mind, all done now; so in the spirit of keeping at least one of my resolutions this year; I am trying to be a better blogger; from now on!  Sadly, photography no better yet.

A few days ago, it was lovely and spring-like in this part of the world:

This was the scene a few days ago on our dog walk around the village.

It was evem sunny enough to take a few pictures of some of my latest purchases:

Utility china again

Pretty white and gold cups and saucers

Then the snow came:

Our front garden

Trees and Eeyore's house at the local woods

It's melting now, but more is forecast.  Hopefully it won't prevent me from getting out to hunt for more vintage treasures, as I have a few fairs coming up.
