Missing photos..and Camden Market

I can't believe how long it's been since I last posted!  I've been busy over the last few weeks; with a 2 day Antiques and Vintage fair in Grantham and then shopping and sorting out stock for the Northampton Vintage Fair next Saturday.  In the middle of this, we are trying to clear out the house in an attempt to sell it; which has meant lots of packing and throwing out!

Unfortunately, I lost my phone on Thursday, and with it lots of photos.  So below I have posted some photos of the few vintage items I haven't packed away!

Yesterday, before seeing a fantstic ballet performance starring two of my daughters' friends; we visited Camden Market.  It was extremely busy and there were lots of vintage shops and stalls which we didn't have time to look round properly; but my personal photographer took lots of photos of the art in the Stables Market:

All in all, a vintage day!

A busy vintage weekend

On Saturday, eldest daughter became my faithful assistant at the Think Vintage and Handmade fair in Wolverton, Milton Keynes.  We had a great time there; it was busy for most of the day and we must have grown some new muscles packing and unpacking our stall!

It was great to see Ann and Trevor from the Northampton Vintage Fair and Linda of TabbyRoo.  As usual, I forgot to take any photos until nearly the end; and even then, they were at a very strange angles:

On Sunday, my assistant and I went to our local football ground, to a new antique fair and flea market.  I think she was hoping she might see some nice footballers; but no luck!  However, I bought a shoe-box full of old postcards, which I can never resist.  There are hundreds like this:

Then there was a busy Monday, scouring charity shops.  Not too much about, but I did indulge my liking for blue and white stripes and jugs:

Needless to say; once I decided to upload some more photos; the computer refused to play ball. However, here are a few of my recent finds:


Suffering from a rather bad paint job; but it's a fire screen that converts into a glass-topped table.

Pretty as a picture

I love old postcards - particularly the ones that are hand-tinted and feature glamourous ladies or cherubic children. These are a couple I bought recently; I think they are gorgeous and far nicer than the sort of greeting cards we send today.

I often wonder about modern items we have now; and whether they will make nice vintage things in the future. I don't really think so; in fact, I'd be suprised if very much of it actually survives as we are such a throw-away society these days. Oh dear - turning into a grumpy old woman here! Must go and eat some of hubby's birthday cake and cheer myself up.
